This is a ceramic workshop taught by Yasmin Falahat which will cover two sessions:
First Session: Beginners hand-building - where you will learn the basic techniques of hand-building such as pinch pots, slab building, coiling and surface design. There is no wheel-throwing being taught in this workshop. This 2.5 hour session will give you the opportunity to make your own piece(s)!
Second Session: Beginners glazing - where you will explore different ways of applying the glaze and get the opportunity to paint your fired pieces using coloured underglazes and glazes in this 2.5 hour session.
The time between the 2 workshop dates is to allow for your pieces to dry and be fired in the kiln.
After the final session, your pieces will be fired and be available to collect.
The workshop includes BOTH sessions. The cost covers both sessions.
The workshops will take place at Brickfield Studios, London, E3 3UQ. More details will be emailed to you after the workshop is purchased.
Please note that the studio where the workshop takes place is on the second floor and unfortunately there is no lift in the building.
Materials, aprons, and tools will be provided, as well as snacks & drinks. All you need to bring is yourself!
There are 6 slots available per workshop.
This is NOT a workshop to learn how to make the figs & pomegranates, you will be taught the hand-building techniques with which you can make whatever you like.
